Flagg Races
FLAGG ‘POINT TO POINT’ RACES
Flagg races is a unique event giving a snap shot of what horse racing was like decades ago. This event reflects back to days of olde when there were no defined race courses or track; with horse and rider charging from ‘point to point’.
Flagg’s first point to point races were held on Flagg Moor in 1892 and have continued every year since, interrupted only by the World Wars and more recently, the foot and mount outbreak at the beginning of the 21st century.
The race is traditionally held on Easter Tuesday, roughly half way between the villages of Flagg and Pomeroy
